QUESTION
Does my motorcycle or automotive insurance coverage carry over to a motorcycle rental or tour?
ANSWER
Not likely. Most motorcycle and automotive insurance policies do not extend coverage to motorcycle rentals. Check with your insurance agent in advance.
QUESTION
If I ride a Harley-Davidson Authorized Rentals motorcycle in a state that does not have a helmet law, why must my passenger and I wear one?
ANSWER
Our primary concern is your safety. Protection on the road is a good thing and it is a good idea for motorcyclists to ride responsibly. You and any passengers must sign an agreement that states you will wear a country-approved helmet at all times while on the bike for the duration of the rental, even if you’re traveling in a state without mandatory helmet laws. If you don’t have your own country-approved helmet, don’t worry - these can be provided at the time of rental. Be aware that beanie and novelty shells are not approved and do not qualify as proper head protection.
QUESTION
What is the difference between Harley-Davidson Authorized Rentals and Harley-Davidson Authorized Tours?
ANSWER
Both Harley-Davidson Authorized Rentals and Harley-Davidson Authorized Tours operators are independently owned and operated, but each caters to a different kind of customer. Harley-Davidson Authorized Rentals operators rent motorcycles to qualified renters for as long as the customer needs it - usually for one or several days at a time. Harley-Davidson Authorized Tours operators offer a tour experience that typically lasts several days and consists of several riders and travels a predetermined route led by a tour guide. Most Harley-Davidson Authorized Tours include the motorcycle rental, guide service, some meals, lodging, and a support vehicle. But no matter which experience - Harley-Davidson Authorized Rentals or Harley-Davidson Authorized Tours - you can be assured that you will receive the use of a recent-model Harley-Davidson that has been serviced and maintained according to Harley-Davidson Motor Company standards.
